Not a great win by the Bruins but Krug was good. Nice to see Eriksson get on the board. This morning I was reading an interesting article about him

I usually enjoy reading comments from fans of other teams and seeing their perspective. but only when it's legitimate hockey talk. I read other teams blogs to see what people think etc... but i would never waste my time trolling other teams pages to make stupid comments about their fanbase.... go to HF boards if you just wanna b*tch and whine about things.

I agree with writers view. I also was in the camp of dealing Eriksson and cashing in on his value before it lowers with age. If Eriksson really wants 6 years let him go. Marchand's extension should be a big priority for the Bruins management.

What a frustrating game to watch. They go from playing two "playoff" type games on the road to playing a home game that had the intensity of a preseason game. I don't know if it's just the volume on the NESN arena microphones, but the crowds this year seem to be very quiet. I don't blame them yesterday, but in general, they haven't been very Boston like.

I feel like I've been noticing this a lot over the past few seasons... Bruins fans at the Garden just don't have the same intensity... I notice it on TV, and I've definitely noticed it at the games I've been to. There's very few "Let's go Bruins" chants, and just in general it feels like a totally different atmosphere compared to seasons in the past. I know it sounds weird, but I wonder how much of that has an impact on the game. I'm sure teams aren't worried about their fans cheering, but I'm sure when there's an awesome booming LETS GO BRUINS chant going on, it's gotta add like an extra 1% of adrenaline.

The loudest cheers seemed to be for attempted hits that didn't actually make any contact.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game last night as I was out with some friends, but I just saw a replay of the OT goal.... and oof that was a bad attempted change by Bergy that led to that goal.

I think the crowd support has a significant impact. Ironically, I think the road support for the B's is a big reason why they are so successful. Just look at the weekend games in FLA. Bruins fans were louder and more active than the Panther and Lightning fans. As a fan, I get pumped hearing fellow B's fans loud in a road rink... I can only imagine what it does for the players.

yeah... they have a tendency to play to the level of their competition, and wtf.. they are a better team than carolina, maybe they should pretend they dont know it or something. OT was just so sloppy, I myself and not diggin the 3 on 3 play, its less of a novelty than the end game shootout, which despite what national writers like to say, is not the most exciting play in hockey. an in game penalty shot certainly is exciting, but last year if it got to the shoot out, I would either change the channel, or go get a beer on or something.
(Throws on old guy hat) When I was a kid, they played the game until it ended, and I got to stay up and watch, whats wrong with that?

I think that's part of the point he trying to make, is that the home crowd has sucked lately, and they've actually been receiving more vocal support when they've been on the road.

Couldn't agree more. There seems to be this mentality of "We're not the best so why should we care" among the Bruins fan base and I (frank)ing hate that. It's the epitome of being a bandwagoner. Question the organization all you want but once that puck drops it shouldn't matter who's on the ice, (frank)in cheer em on

Yeah eh.... my first ever live Bruins game, Maple Leaf Gardens, Bruins up 4-1 going into the third and the game ends in a 4-4 tie. What a memory...

I don't know if we can completely blame the home fans for being female doges........maybe some of it.

In there defense over the last couple seasons the Bs have not shown much on home ice. It's been a lack luster effort.

You can watch and see the lack of intensity. That's been a complaint of many on this board.

In many ways I TRULLY don't understand how "this team," this year is doing so good.................!

I feel like the teams that got beat by Carolina in 7 games in OT and that allowed the PATHETIC comeback by Philly were better teams...............the team beat by the Habs a couple years ago should have competed for the Cup!

This team.......on the leaders backs. Seems to defeat all odds!

Maybe Bergy, Marchand, Rask, and Krejci can CARRY them..........MAYBE.......I HOPE!

I feel like a HOMER in writing that statement to be honest!

I think it was the same mentality those years. We're better, we'll win, (frank) trying.

Saw it against the panthers last week, saw it in the aforementioned series losses. I think the Joe Thornton era was plagued by that. He played with broken ribs and tried to carry a team with no heart. And got traded for it...

crowd gets quiet quick when they are losing. I don't think its the "we're not the best so F'em" attitude, less pink hats at a Bs game than Sox. Its hard to get excited when they play flat, which they have done at home a lot.
